*A Personal Note from Justin Kaye
If you’re like me, the hardest part of following a plant-based lifestyle isn’t giving up the protein—it’s the fear of giving up the foods you love.
I’ll be honest. I used to think “plant-based” was just a fancy word for someone who munches on lettuce and carrots all day like a human rabbit.
And let’s be real — that’s exactly why most people quit.
They think “healthy” means scarfing down a pile of plain, boiled veggies and lying to yourself that it actually tastes good.
Before I made the switch to a vegan diet, I was a dedicated meat-eater.
I’ve been a fitness fanatic since 2014, living the classic bodybuilder lifestyle — chicken, beef, eggs, fish, rice, protein shakes, dairy… on repeat.
It was honestly a soul crushing experience at first. My roommate even laughed and said, “Where are you going to get energy and protein from eating that crap, you won’t last 30 days.”
So honestly, by day ten, I was hungry, uninspired, and pretty much ready to give up. But then I got accidentally lucky. I moved in with my friend’s brother and his girlfriend, and surprisingly, they were already vegan. One night, they saw me struggling with a sad little plate of bland veggies and rice. They just looked at me and said, “Justin, what are you doing? Let us cook something for you.”
That night changed my life. They made a proper meal—full of rich flavor, spices, and thick sauces. I took one bite and was absolutely blown away. I actually stopped chewing, looked up, and asked, “Are you sure this is vegan?”
Indian curries, Turkish mezze, and more.
Meat-eater approved.
Everyday supermarket staples.
So you’re not just getting a cookbook—you’re getting a **whole world of flavors** that’ll make plant-based eating **easy and delicious.**
